Motorola Edge S powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC will launch on January 26

Recently (on January 19, 2021), first Qualcomm announced the new flagship chip; Snapdragon 870 processor.  After (just hours) that, a confirmation came from Motorola through its official Weibo handle  that the company will launch the smartphone Edge S with this Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC on January 26. In this way; it has become crystal clear that Motorola will be the first brand to launch a phone with this latest chipset.

The company’s Weibo-tease also  give hints about the processor of  the upcoming smartphone Motorola Edge S. Mind you, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor comes with the fastest clock speed of any chipset at the moment; with the Kryo 585 cores –  in reality which are ARM Cortex-A77, running up to the 3.2GHz.  It is built on the 7nm process of TSMC. Additionally, this chipset  comes with eight cores which are –  four Cortex A-55 for efficiency, three Cortex A-77 running at a lower speed, as well as, Super-fast Cortext A-77.

It is expected that the Smartphone Motorola Edge S will come with a 6.7-inch full HD+ OLED display with a 105Hz refresh rate. According to some reports, it may come with a 64-Megapixel main camera. Initially the phone will launch in China. Moreover, now (some) people are saying that the handset will/may be Motorola Nio; the phone which has been in the news since sometimes. Some reports also say that the upcoming phone  could come with the similar specs to the Edge+ – another handset of the company which comes with a decent battery of 5,000mAh.
